ABOUT ME
Carly Thomas is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who currently works as an Associate Editor at The Hollywood Reporter.
Having a passion for connecting with people and sharing their stories from a young age, as well as interests in entertainment and pop culture, Carly went on to study at Elon University, graduating with a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Music Production and Recording Arts.
Continuing her career in journalism, she started working at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a Digital Content Producer and later the Lead Digital Producer. During her time in local news, she won an Emmy Award, in addition to earning three Emmy nominations, for her digital contribution to story coverage.
Carly later moved to Los Angeles to pursue entertainment news at The Hollywood Reporter, where she’s continued to be a top traffic driver for THR’s website, covering trending topics and breaking news. She also pitches original stories and helps with TV show coverage, in addition to leading THR’s online “Person of Interest” series.
